Sure Save Pharmacy is a locally owned and operated pharmacy serving two locations. The first location located in Harvest, AL was opened in 1999. It has since grown to serve the needs of Harvest, Toney, Madison, and the surrounding areas of North Alabama. The second location is located in Madison, AL and is our newest addition to our pharmacy business. It is situated in the growth corridor of Highway 72.

We are here to serve our customers and have been doing so for 18 years. We truly love being part of the community. We believe that it all starts with community and service to our customers; knowing without the wonderful support from our community, this all would not be possible.

Our Team

Ned Nuwayhid Owner/Founder

Ned has been in the pharmacy business for over 30 years. Originally from Lebanon, he moved to Huntsville to create a better life for his family. After working in the banking industry, he found an opportunity to own a Pharmacy. In the 1970’s, he co-founded a group of pharmacy chains called Buy Wise Drugs. In 1999, he went on to opened Sure Save Pharmacy.

Mazen NuwayhidMazen Nuwayhid, PharmD Co-owner/Director of Pharmacy Operations

Mazen is a native of Huntsville, AL. He graduated from Samford Universiry in 2002with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. After graduation, Mazen worked briefly with a large chain. In 2004, Mazen went on to partner with his father at Sure-Save Pharmacy. Since that time, Sure-Save Pharmacy has grown to serve the likes of Harvest, Toney, Madison, Athens, and the North Alabama area. In 2015, Mazen and Ned went on to open a second location in Madison, AL.

JT LeatherwoodJ.T. Leatherwood, R.Ph. Co-owner/Pharmacist

J.T. Leatherwood is a native of Alabama growing up in Alexandria, AL. J.T. has 20 years of retail pharmacy experience and received his degrees from Auburn University in 1994 with a B.S. in Zoology/Chemistry and his B.S. in Pharmacy from Auburn University’s Harrison School of Pharmacy in December 1996. After graduation he was licensed as a pharmacist in April of 1997 and began his career with Buy Wise Pharmacy, an independent pharmacy in Huntsville, AL. In May 1998 Rite Aid Corporation purchased Buy Wise Pharmacy. He transitioned to Rite Aid and has served in many diverse roles in his tenure including, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacy District Manager and until August 2015 served as Corporate Director of College Relations & Professional Recruitment covering the Southeast and Midwestern United States.

J.T. is currently a member of the Alabama Pharmacist Association, American Pharmacist Association and the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists. With his diverse background in retail pharmacy, he is excited to be back in Madison Alabama as co-owner of the new Sure Save Pharmacy and eager to bring his experience in providing great patient communication, excellent customer service and bringing a superior pharmacy experience to his patients in Madison and the surrounding areas.
